5 Reasons Why You Need a Landing Page!

A few weeks ago we discussed the importance of having a CTA. A crucial part of your CTA is figuring out where you’re driving your potential customers. And that’s where the landing page comes in! Your landing page is totally separate from your home page, and is specifically designed to capture your leads. Here’s 5 great reasons why landing pages are important.

1. Keeping Customers Focused

Have you ever shown up to a buffet and you’re so overwhelmed that you don’t know where to start? Or you’re wandering around trying to find the one thing you’re excited about? Well that sort of what it’s like when you drive your customers to your homepage instead of a landing page. If you’re giving them a link to a specific type of offer, demo, etc, you’re going to want to give them that immediately. If you’re just driving them to the homepage, it’s easier for them to lose focus and maybe they lose that feeling of needing to sign up for your offer. Which brings us to point #2.

2. Capturing Leads

By driving your customers to a specific landing page, you’re presenting them exactly what they asked for. They clicked because they’re already interested in your offer so the best way to capture that lead is to get them right to the form where they can give you their information. Make sure the landing page only has that single offer though. Statistics show that multiple offers on a landing page actually decreases conversions. Landing pages are important because they can help with the immediacy of capturing that lead.

3. Providing More Information

Your CTA can be in a lot of different places. Maybe it’s a video (hey, we make those!), an email, a billboard, or any other place you can grab a customer’s attention. The point is, wherever you’ve captured their interest, you probably didn’t have enough time to break down ALL the great things about our new offer. Your focused landing page is a perfect place to give your audience a little bit more information and maybe give them the extra nudge they need to submit their information.

4. Understanding Your Audience

When a customer requests an offer on your landing page, you’re typically able to capture a little bit of information about them. Depending on the information you receive, you’re able to understand your potential customers a little bit better. Maybe you suddenly find that a certain age range or geographical area has been clicking more lately. If you’re finding out different demographics are taking an interest in your offerings, maybe it’s time to research some ways to punch up your marketing efforts toward those groups. Which is why #5 goes hand and hand with this point.

5. Managing Your Campaigns

One of the other reasons landing pages are important is that it helps you understand which marketing campaigns are being most effective. If your video has one link and your email as another link, you’ll be able to track which one is getting more traffic, helping you better understand the effectiveness of your campaigns. You might also have different offers happening at once so if each offer has its own landing page, you’re able to track which one is resonating the most with customers.
