How to Maximize Your Video Engagement
March 26, 2015
Here at Digital Brew, we like to think of ourselves as video connoisseurs. We live in a time where there are so many different tools people can use to create videos and platforms to share them on. With that comes millions of video uploads to the web, but maybe 1% of the uploads are quality videos. It’s like a needle in the haystack. How do you position yourself as the needle? Nobody wants to be the haystack.
In order to become the needle, there’s an essential question you must ask yourself. What’s the difference between boring videos and great videos that you’re still thinking about days, weeks, months later? After reflecting on this question ourselves, we put together a list of tools and tricks that we believe are essential to the engagement process.
1-Grab em’ quick
Keep it short, for goodness sakes. Ain’t nobody got time for a 12-minute video of you talking at your desk. Keep things quick, to the point, but not rushed. Think to yourself, how long would it take a viewer to get the gist of this video or my business? That sweet spot, according to experts is the drop off point for most viewers. With this in mind, give the people want they want. They arrived at your video for a reason. Viewers are smart too, they can tell when a company is being “sales-y” or feeding them information that is false. So make sure to be authentic.2- Optimize, optimize, optimize
Repeat it with me. Search engine optimizing your video is often a step that is overlooked. SEO not only drives traffic to your video but if executed correctly, it drives traffic back to your site. More visits and views= more conversions! Including keywords in your descriptions, creating a catchy title and properly using tags allows more of your target audience to see your video. Views from the right individuals are invaluable.
