Inside Look: Dos Dudes Logo Animation

We believe strongly in collaboration here at Digital Brew; the more creative minds the better! We take it as a huge compliment when someone with such talent as Theo Rossi trusts our team to bring an idea to life, and are particularly proud of the outcome of this special partnership. The Sons of Anarchy star needed a logo animation for his production company, Dos Dudes Pictures, so we worked together to expand on his ideas and utilize our skilled team to create a unique and artistic piece. Theo’s original vision was to take the viewer flying through the streets of Staten Island and approach a memory he recounted of himself and friends playing cee-lo in an alley. We used a combination of textures and hand drawn sketches to create the unique style. The assets were arranged in 3D space using After Effects CC and we shot reference footage of our own guys playing dice and then drew the animation frame by frame to animate the characters. We animated a reference for the dice roll in Cinema 4D and sketched it frame by frame as well. The sketched white on black style represents the urban culture of Staten Island while using an atmospheric sound design to place the kids in a bustling city environment. Our team really enjoyed bringing together the technical and creative elements required for this time-consuming project. We look forward to pushing ourselves even further for future artistic animations. DosDudes Pictures is based in NYC and is in development on numerous films and television productions.
