Reuse Your Assets
September 1, 2022
As we mentioned last week, we’re dedicating the month of August to highlighting ways to make the most of your marketing budget. A great way to do that is to reuse your assets!
Reuse Your Assets
This is a great way to keep creating content when keeping an eye on your marketing budget, saving you money and time! If you’re looking to keep the social media posts flowing, a nifty trick is finding creative ways to use assets that are already created in new ways. Not everything needs to be built 100% from scratch. Take a look at this paragraph. A lot of it was reused from our blog last week because maybe not everyone read it last week. And hey, it saved this writer some time on writing this blog.
Extending Yourself Across Different Platforms
Keeping up with all the different social media platforms can be overwhelming. Some companies choose to focus on a few, depending on where most of their audience is. Like maybe they’re only on Facebook and Instagram. But some companies have such a variety of people that consume their content, they might have a Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, a YouTube page, and even post articles or blogs on their own website. That’s a lot of content to keep up with and everybody probably isn’t following you on every platform. This would be a perfect time to reuse your assets.
Let’s say you’re starting with a blog or an article. Take that blog and make some adjustments to turn it into a script for a YouTube video. Once that video is finished, you can clip out really great short sequences from that to put on your TikTok or Snapchat story. You can also take some great screenshots from those videos for you Instagram page (or even post the clips there too). But there’s also probably some great info being spoken about that you can use to put into an infographic for later use too. And I bet there’s also some great shots in those videos that you might be able to repurpose for a later video. Here’s a great breakdown of a lot of different ways to reuse your assets across platforms.
Fleshing Out Your Campaigns with Reused Assets
Another great way to save some time and money in the long run is investing energy into building assets with longevity and flexibility. Maybe you’re about to start a new marketing campaign. Well unless you’re rebranding, all of your company logos and branding can still be repurposed for the new campaign. And for all the new assets for the campaign, make sure they’re designed in such a way that they can easily be reused in other places and won’t need to be recreated every single time you use an image.
Scroll through our blog page and look at how we make our blog headers. We’ve used the Brew Bot multiple times in different ways to keep it looking fresh. He’s been built in such a way that it’s simple to pose his arms in different ways so that we don’t have to create a new version every time we want to use him. Remember, work smarter, not harder.
Brew Those Assets
Remember: work smarter, not harder. There are a lot of creative ways to reuse your assets to help your marketing campaigns go further. Just make sure you put the time in at the start so it’s easier to get the most out of them. If you’re ever looking for some marketing advice or just want to talk shop, reach out to us here.
