2023 is coming to a close and we like to think we’ve given you a lot of helpful marketing tips and tricks. But what does the future hold? Technology is rapidly changing and so is the way customers interact with brands. It can be a little overwhelming trying to keep up with all the marketing trends. A.I. Artificial Intelligence

If you’ve been paying attention to marketing (or the world) this past year, you’ve probably seen a lot of talk around the advancements in AI. We’ve even talked about it on this blog in the past. The most interesting ways companies will be utilizing it in 2024 will be with their customer interactions and analytics. Because large language models like ChatGPT are basically massive predictive text generators, they aren’t particularly great for generating content. But what they are great for are chatbots for your customers to interact with. With AI-chatbots and virtual assistants, your customers can often receive better assistance that helps get to the root of their needs.

Augmented Reality

As technology continues to advance, the capabilities of our phones and accessibility of things like augmented reality become even greater. Which means, marketing with it becomes something you’ll see more and more of. Augmented reality is when you’re giving virtual objects to interact with your existing environments. You’ve probably already seen some of it when you’re purchasing something like furniture. Some websites will give you the ability to see what that couch might look like in your living room. So using your camera, you’ll be able to “place” it around your home and see how it looks. Some companies are even taking the immersion a step further with virtual reality marketing. More and more tech companies are producing VR headsets which really opens the doors for marketers to be able to fully immerse potential customers into marketing experiences.

Sustainable and Green Marketing

This blog is about marketing trends for 2024, but this one has been something that’s been brewing for years. The state of global warming and our environment is undeniable. Already, you’re going to see more and more companies focus on the ways they are reducing their carbon footprint or helping to actively fight climate change. Heck, we’ve already made a few videos for companies focusing on this very topic. 78% of US consumers say that a sustainable lifestyle is important to them and over the past five years, products making environmental-related claims accounted for 56% of all growth. Building on the use of AI earlier in this blog, more personalized marketing content will be a big part of 2024 and beyond. You’ve probably already seen it a lot. “Hey, that thing I googled once is suddenly popping up in my Instagram ads.” or “I posted about needing a landscaper and now my pages are suddenly flooded with ads for landscapers.” Technology is becoming so advanced that it can analyze your needs based on compiling all of your data, hyperfocusing on your interests and even calling you out by name. It’s a little scary, for sure, but it’s also clearly working. 88% of U.S. marketers reported seeing measurable improvements due to personalization. Video Marketing

“Wait, I thought you were talking about marketing trends for 2024. You always talk about video marketing.” Well, we love talking about video. Also the demand for video marketing just keeps growing. 91% of people say they want to see more online videos. That’s because video marketing can be so powerful! It’s even preferred by 80% of people over written text. Video platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and even Instagram (have you seen all the videos there? We’re counting it) are still huge.
