More Than a New Look: Inside the Digital Brew Rebrand

Quick Answer: Digital Brew has a new look and a new chapter ahead. We’ve expanded beyond video production to offer AI Visibility and content strategy services, helping brands get found by AI and chosen by humans. If you’re curious about the Digital Brew Rebrand and what went into it, we asked three of the people behind it to share their perspectives.

The Team Behind the New Look

You may have noticed that things look a little different around here!

We’ve recently unveiled a new Digital Brew, with a fresh identity that reflects where we’re headed and how we’re helping brands navigate a changing digital landscape.

But there’s a lot more to a rebrand than what you see on the surface. So we thought, who better to tell the story than the people who helped bring it to life?

Meet the team behind the transformation:

Ally, the strategy behind it. She helped shape the direction of the rebrand, from why we made the change to what our new positioning means for clients.

Andrea, the creative vision. She designed our new logo, developed the Brewbook (our brand guidelines), and brought the new identity together across our website.

Tim, the one bringing it to life. From animations and illustrations to social content and merch, he’s been turning the new brand into something you can actually see and experience.

We asked them about the ideas, challenges, and little details behind the rebrand. Here’s what they had to say.

The New Digital Brew, in Three Words

Before getting into the details, we asked Ally, Andrea, and Tim to describe the new Digital Brew in just three words. Here’s what came to mind.

Q: Describe the new Digital Brew in three words.

Ally: Encompassing. Innovative. Sleek. The first because we are now all-encompassing. Any digital footprint you want to leave, we can help create the content for it, distribute it, and make sure it gets found by AI and humans alike. The second is because we’re always on top of new trends, patterns, and tools that will help us do our job better. The last I’d say is pretty obvious. Our new look is super sleek, which I love.

Andrea: Unmistakable. Visionary. Refined.
Unmistakable, because Digital Brew has a distinct character that makes it recognizable without needing to be loud. Visionary, because we constantly look ahead, experiment, and explore new possibilities while remaining open to change and building with the future in mind. And Refined, because every detail is intentional, balancing simplicity and sophistication to create a cohesive, elevated identity that can evolve without losing its essence.

Tim: Simple. Complex. Engaging. Simplicity where it’s necessary to communicate. Complexity that mimics real-world challenges. Engaging colors and juxtaposition of simplicity and complexity.

Ally: The Thinking Behind the Rebrand

Let’s start with the big picture. Ally walks us through why we decided to rebrand, what our new direction means for clients, and what hasn’t changed.

1. Why rebrand now? What changed in how clients find and choose agencies?

Ally: It’s no secret that the way people are being found online has changed dramatically in the last year. Just having a video (no matter how informative it is or how good it looks) won’t cut it anymore. There needs to be an in-depth strategy around it, and the strategies we’ve seen working for ourselves and other clients are much different than they looked even a year ago. Since our end goal has always been to help our clients achieve their business goals, we figured we needed to start offering services that supported that, hence the AI Visibility work we do now. With those services changes, we felt a complete rebrand was in order as well!

2. We now describe ourselves as an AI Optimization and Content Engine agency. What does that mean for clients day to day?

Ally: It means we’re watching how AI and their customers talk about our clients and then build a content system around that. A lot of buyers now start their research by asking ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google’s AI Overviews who they should work with. So, we look at what those platforms are saying about a brand, where it shows up, where it’s missing, and why. From there we build the content that fills those gaps: hero videos, short-form LinkedIn videos, third-party website presence, and web content that is structured so AI can actually read it, understand it, and cite our client. Then we keep going. We track visibility, report on what’s moving, and keep feeding the engine every month. For a client, day to day, it feels like having a team that’s always making sure the right story about their business is out there and being picked up.

3. Our new line is “Found by AI. Chosen by humans.” What does it mean to you?

Ally: To me, it’s where the whole buyer journey actually happens. AI is where the discovery phase happens now, so if you’re not showing up there, you aren’t in the conversation at all. That’s the “found” part, and that’s the optimization work we do. But when we move along to actually moving the needle, that’s where the humans come in. Once someone clicks through, they want to feel like they can trust you, understand you, and see themselves working with you. That’s the “chosen” part, and that’s where great storytelling and Emmy-winning creative come in. The “found” and the “chosen” aspects of the line work so well to encompass all we do.

4. What stayed the same? What part of the old Digital Brew is still at the heart of who we are?

Ally: By far the storytelling. That has always been who we are, and it’s still the core of what we provide today. We will always be the studio that takes a complicated idea and makes it clear, human, and memorable. The craft is the same, the team is the same, and the care we put into every frame is the same. Our Emmys came from doing exceptional and obsessive work, and that’s exactly what makes the new direction possible. AI rewards content that’s genuinely useful and well made, and that’s what we’ve been creating all along, now we just added a way to make sure more of the right people see it.

Andrea: Designing the New Digital Brew

With the strategy in place, it was time to give it a visual identity. Andrea takes us behind the design decisions, from the new logo to the little details you might not notice at first.

1. Where did the new logo come from, and what story does it tell?

Andrea: Every time I think about the idea behind the logo, it makes me smile because there’s a beautiful paradox at its core. While exploring ideas to replace our old identity, the process itself became my greatest source of inspiration. Thinking, creating, and processing ideas are at the heart of what we do, so it felt almost natural to turn that creative spark into a story of its own.

Suddenly, the mark made sense. It brought together the concepts we wanted to express, from movement and creative energy to the symbolism of AI, in a way that felt cohesive and unmistakably ours. What began as a search for a new logo became the very process that revealed it. In the end, the mark was the final piece of the puzzle, not just representing who we are, but expressing the thinking that brought the entire identity to life.

2. What was the hardest design decision you made in the Brewbook? (The “text is never colored” rule is a fun one to explain.)

Andrea: The hardest decisions are often the ones that require the most restraint, especially when evolving from a fun, expressive animation studio identity. In this case, keeping typography neutral allows our signature colors to do what they’re meant to do: establish hierarchy, direct attention, and give the identity its distinctive character. I like to think of the brand as a cast of characters: each has a role to play, and not everyone needs to be the protagonist. A strong system understands that distinction and knows exactly where color belongs.

3. How did you approach the new website, and what should visitors notice first?

Andrea: I approached the website as the place where all the principles of our new identity come together: clarity, certainty, boldness, humanity, precision, and fun. Every decision, from the visual language to the overall experience, was an opportunity to bring those principles to life in a way that feels cohesive, intentional, and unmistakably Digital Brew.

When visitors land on our website, I want them to feel that they’ve found the partner they need to elevate their business and navigate what comes next. The world is changing rapidly, and companies need more than a way to catch up; they need the right team to help them move forward with confidence. I want the website to feel like a launchpad, a rocket built to take their business into the future, with the expertise and direction to get them there.

4. What’s a detail most people won’t notice, but you’re proud of?

Andrea: I’m particularly proud of the amount of thought and work that exists beneath the surface of this rebrand. What people see is the final identity, but behind it is an entire system I developed to make the brand coherent and scalable across every touchpoint: from the brand guidelines, color distribution, typography, and grid systems to the visual language, motion principles, material explorations, and the many assets needed to bring the identity to life across social media, the website, merchandise, and beyond.

For me, the real achievement isn’t just creating a new look. It’s building the framework that allows the entire brand to communicate consistently, evolve with purpose, and remain recognizable regardless of where or how it appears. Those details may not always be visible to the audience, but they’re what make the whole thing work.

Tim: Bringing the Brand to Life

A brand really comes together when you start putting it to work. Tim shares what it was like turning the new guidelines into illustrations, animations, and everything in between.

1. What was it like turning the brand guidelines into real assets, from social posts to animations or merch?

Tim: These guidelines are pretty extensive, but you can’t think of everything in advance. It’s a fun challenge to hold on to the look that is established and walk into uncharted territory. With any guidelines, you need to curb your personal preferences so that you can accurately serve the vision of the brand, but when you have such a fun and creative brand like this, we are still able to explore exciting places.

2. What surprised you or your team along the way? (something unexpected)

Tim: I was surprised at the extent of the planning. Some branding is as simple as making some new colors, a logo, and a description of a look. The way the system has been thought out expands through so many templates and use cases that we are setting ourselves up to look consistent wherever we are representing ourselves.

3. How does the new brand change the way you design for clients?

Tim: With our new elevated identity, there is a responsibility to bring that same elevated attitude to each new project and especially each new client. Branding is like a personality. We identify who we want to be then we act in a way that fulfils that identity.

4. What’s your favorite piece from the launch, and why?

Tim: I am an illustrator at heart. When I see the illustrations that are made using our new colors and vision, I’m blown away. There is such a level of sophistication and restraint that I admire so much.

One Last Question: What’s Next?

We’ve talked about where the new Digital Brew came from and how it came together. But what about where we’re headed? We wrapped up by asking all three to look ahead.

Q: Where do you see Digital Brew a year from now?

Ally: Honestly, I see us twice as big. I see us as a full-fledged agency with in-house artists, animators, marketers, content writers, and social media managers all working like a well-oiled machine to give our clients a one-stop. High end service to make sure they aren’t just chosen, they’re found.

Andrea: I believe Digital Brew is making one of the most important and forward-thinking moves an agency can make at this moment. A year from now, I see us not only growing in team size and revenue, but establishing ourselves as a Content Studio that represents a clear before and after in how agencies approach brand visibility and content in an AI-driven world.

I see us helping redefine how agencies operate, giving businesses the tools and expertise to navigate change rather than simply react to it. More importantly, I see Digital Brew becoming a company that doesn’t just anticipate the future, but understands how to move with it and turn that change into an advantage. Much like our mark, I believe Digital Brew is built to move forward, evolve, and shine in a future that’s already taking shape.

Tim: Our team is tenured and skillful. The fundamentals are under our feet like a surfboard. I like to think of life and work as waves and we are about to catch a big one.

A New Look, Plenty More to Come

If there’s one thing that comes through in these conversations, it’s how much thought went into every part of this rebrand.

From the strategy behind our new services to the smallest design details, it’s been a team effort. And while our look and services have expanded, our love for storytelling is still at the center of everything we do.

We’re excited to see where this next chapter takes us. And we’re glad you’re here for it.
