Can you believe 2021 is right around the corner? 2020 hasn’t been anything close to what we expected, but we continue to push forward and plan for the upcoming year. And as always, with the new year comes a new marketing strategy!

The Stats Don’t Lie

The numbers are in folks, and as many anticipated, the need for video continues to increase. In fact, according to Cisco (one of our partners), video traffic is projected to make up 82% of all internet traffic in 2021. That’s fifteen times higher than it was in 2017, and is only expected to increase exponentially. 

It’s no question that consumers love video, since they’re projected to spend 100 minutes a day watching online videos in 2021, a huge increase from the daily average of 67 minutes back in 2018.

The numbers for video marketing were already very favorable, and experts expect the numbers to only increase each year. So by looking back on current and past years, we can get a great idea of what video marketing will look like in 2021. 

To recap, in 2020:

  • 90% of consumers state that video “helped them make purchasing decisions”
  • 55% of all Google search results contain at least one video
  • 72% of customers would rather learn about a product or service by way of video.

Because of these numbers, most companies are already implementing video into their marketing strategy, but it’s crucial to make sure the videos you are using are helping rather than hurting you, and that the production studio you team up with knows your brand well, and how to sell you to viewers.
